I am relatively experienced with air-purifiers and used so far 4 different brands during my life, including Levoit.I always chose devices from the mid-high quality and performance range. To tell the truth, for me Levoit’s products are so far the best ones – even compared to brands calling them premium.I am an owner of a Levoit LV-H132 and recently purchased the Core 300. Actually I wanted first another unit into my office, but after receiving annd realizing how efficient is the Core 300, I ordered another 2 one (1 into the bedroom and 1 into the child’s room).Allow me not to go into the appearance and other non-significant issues (yes, it is silent in the night mode, I can sleep next to it and it is robust and simply nice at the same time). Allow me touch the essence. The Core 300 is an amazing air purifier because 1.) it has a big air-intake surface compared to its size 2.) it has a strong fan capable of moving the air in the room (and silent in night mode) 3.) it has a top-quality hepa filter. For me these are the decisive factors when considering an air purifier’s quality (I do not care about automode and other shiny details – if the 3 ones are missing from a device, you inhale bad quality air in the end).I measured the performance of the Core 300 with a Temtop LKC-1000S device (ordered from Amazon). Room size: 20m2. Starting values: PM2.5: 5.2 ug/m3, PM10: 8.2 ug/m3, No. of particles: 1,024 (per/L). After 1 hour full speed operation, in closed room the values: PM2.5: 0.3 ug/m3, PM10: 0.8 ug/m3, No. of particles: 99 (per/L). Amazingly low values – none of the other devices, brands managed to get the air quality to such a good level.Certainly if you switch to lower performance, the same air quality cannot be maintained but this is a natural thing.I get up with a much clearer nose in the morning.I had no „plastic smell” issue although I ordered 3 separate untis.A minor negative issue but to be objective: one of the devices is slightly vibrating and issuing due to this a slightly unpleasant sound. The device went through a security check at the airport – maybe this is the reason.Summarized: Efficient, it works, (our health) worths the money

I put this filter in my bedroom to cut down on dust and just have cleaner air. It works well if you keep your expectations realistic. I run my ceiling fan to stir the air in the room and run the filter for hours at a time during the day at high speed. Remember to clean the air, the air must move around the room and go through the filter. So I run it on high during the day and shut it off at night. Works for me. Now I can see almost no dust in the sunbeams that come through my window anymore, whereas before I could always see a lot of dust. There is still some dust on the furniture though, just less.Regarding a smell: The first time that I ran it for 8 hours it left a smell. Only happened once and never again.Regarding fan noise: Low setting is almost silent, medium setting is low fan noise, high setting is loud fan noise (think any typical box fan on high). All these reviews about “the fan is so loud it sounds like a helicopter! My ears bled!” is nonsense. It’s just a fan.Other features: The features are intuitive. Button lights can be shut off completely. Buttons do not make noise when pressed. Filter change is simple. All features are explained.Overall great product.

I only just got this yesterday and used it last night for the first time but I feel compelled to write a quick review already. This thing is a game. changer. Ever since moving to Texas, I suffer from terrible seasonal allergies. I never have in my life until now (turns out I’m allergic to a handful of trees that are native around here. Fun.) Some years are worse than others but this year is baaad. For the past few weeks my mornings have had me waking up congested and unable to breathe, blowing wads of snot out of my nose (sorry!), and with a itchy/scratchy sore throat. First thing I do is take an allergy pill and wait in misery until it finally seems to kick in around mid morning. (I’ve had a terrible time finding meds that work too. It just sucks.) I don’t know why I never thought to get an air purifier. I guess when I thought of air purifiers I’d always think of the fancy Dyson ones that cost hundreds of dollars. I mean, puh-lease. Not happening. Then I found this little guy. Had great reviews, was the perfect little size for our master bedroom (216sqft), and reasonably priced with reasonably priced replacement filters. In a plee of desperation I talked my husband into us trying it. It got in yesterday (quicker than expected, yay!). I immediately unboxed it upon getting home from work and plugged it in. It says you only need to run it for about 15-20 minutes on high to cycle the room but I set that little baby on high with a two hour timer and let it run. When it was time for bed, I set the 6 hour timer on sleep mode. The sleep mode is great. It’s a lot more quiet than I expected. I still expected to be able to hear a little white noise from it (which doesn’t bother me at all) but unless I lift my head off the pillow and really listen, I can only just baaarely hear it. And I have it on my side of the bed about 3 feet away. Our home air system is louder than it on sleep mode. If you enjoy white noise, you could probably just run it on low and be fine. It has a button to turn off the indicator lights at night too so you don’t have bright lights keeping you awake if that’s a problem for you. Anyway, I woke up this morning with NO allergy symptoms. None. No congestion, absolutely clear nasal passages, and NO sore throat at all! I’m blown away. I’ll try to come back and revise this review if my opinion changes but after the first night and the relief I was FINALLY able to feel from my allergies this morning I absolutely rate this thing 5 stars. Worth every penny!

I own several other air purifiers, each from a different brand, and here are the ways I think this purifier stands out: 1. You can turn all indicator lights off with a touch of a button! Why, WHY is this such a rare feature among electronics these days? 2. The night mode, which turns the fan down to a speed that’s nearly silent. 3. (My favorite) The buttons don’t make any noise when you press them; no obnoxious, unnecessary *BEEP*. 4. No silly wifi “feature.”Now, as to some of the claims by Levoit, this purifier is neither as quiet, nor as effective at odor reduction as they’d have you believe. But that seems to be par for the course for air purifier manufacturers.Night mode is nearly silent, this is true, but even the lowest standard setting it makes a bit more noise than I expected. With my other purifiers the lowest setting is nearly inaudible. This isn’t a big deal to me, but just fyi. And just like every other purifier I’ve ever owned, the highest setting roars like a jet engine at takeoff, though placement can help mitigate its disruptiveness. As for odor reduction, this is where manufacturers seem to take the most liberties in their marketing material. I mean, let’s be real, it’s just a filter. All it does is trap airborne particulates at or above a certain size. Obviously any odor-causing particulates caught by the filter will be eliminated from the air, thus reducing odor. In my experience, however, it seems most odor-causing particulates are either much smaller than ~0.3 microns, or the cause of the odor is in a gaseous state. So don’t think this, or any other purifier, is a magic box of springtime freshness. That said, carbon filters do help with odor reduction beyond what a standard filter is capable of. If you’ve got a fog of funk that isn’t reduced by a standard filter, a carbon filter might help (emphasis on “might,” as, again, these things aren’t magic).All-in-all I’m impressed so far with this little purifier.
